This community profile was actually a comparison piece of the two similar yet distinct Stock Show and Rodeo events held in Houston and Fort Worth. A question was raised in the beginning that even though Houston stock show and rodeo draws a larger crowd is it in fact better than Fort Worth. The first thing most people think of when they hear Texas is cattle and farming, and this events is one of the main reasons behind this thought. This comparison piece of these two communities however does appear to have some bias simply due to it being written by the Star- Telegram, a newspaper local to Fort Worth and the surrounding areas. However, despite this there are still facts presented and other people comments who work within the stock show and rodeo world who can see these differences and similarities in a different manner. The author takes some hot takes such as which one is bigger and which one is more enjoyable. Now while the Fort Worth show does have its fair share of people come from a sheer number only standpoint the Houston show is about twice the size, however this article continues on with people saying, “this one is definitely more of an urban show. You get more city traffic than Fort Worth,” said Sherrie Brown, who has been a vendor at both shows since 1969. Having this person who has seen the growth, similarities, and differences between the two shows, and ultimately two communities helps to solidify the argument. The author also provides a lot of detail about how all of the same events are there, making these two communities feel as though they are in fact one, but then he lists the facts about numbers and dollar values and the people who will attend these events and shows that there are in fact two communities. Houston will fork over more cash at both the youth and adult levels, and has concerts, something nearly absent from the Fort Worth shows. This difference is part of the reason why there are so many more people at the Houston ones, as it also attracts some people who may just be fans of the music and have no cares for any of the stock show type things. Evidence for that comes from Fort Worth stock show spokesman Matt Brockman said, “our number one priority will always be about creating and producing a quality, engaging and exciting experience centered around the rodeo athletes,” almost an exact opposite to pure stock show provided by Fort Worth. Many of the people who show livestock for a living will attend both of these events, so there is some overlap, which further demonstrates the similarities that the author is arguing for. Overall the differences have to mainly do with the presentation of the event, where the people are similar and the extra crowd drawn to Houston have to do with their much larger population, and the small amount of extra people who go to Houston’s for the other events not found in Fort Worth. All in all this was an interesting article as it provides an insight into a community and these two “sects” that make them seem completely separate, but they are more similar than most will ever realize.

The purpose of this article is to give information on the 1989 movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Some of the information included is an overview of the plot, the cast, the production, themes, cultural references, and the release of the movie. The setup of the page is similar to all Wikipedia pages but the sub sections are those that pertain only to movies, or other forms of visual media. These sub sections are listed above and fall below just a brief couple paragraph generalized overview of the film as a whole. This article’s target audience is anyone who has seen this film, or any of the 3 other films, or have heard about this series of movies in one form or another. The only section that could provide spoilers for someone who is merely looking for the other information that pertains to the movie is the plot section. The plot section however, is an accurate description of the movie and the events and places them in the order that they happened in. Knowing whether this information is correct does present some problems as there is no way to truly know unless you have seen the movie, but the number of people who visit this page is miniscule the chance is still there. This can hurt the credibility of the writer but that credibility can quickly be restored with a viewing of the film. The cast of the movie is straight facts as it merely shows exactly who was in the movie and what role they play. The credibility to this section is bolstered by the use of hyperlinks to both the actor and the character that they play, pulling up articles that show this actor played that role in the given year that the movie came out. The sentence structure and wording used in this section resembles that of a definition in the way that only gives very brief character description and then of course has the hyperlinks to go to a page that has more depth. The next section has to do with the production of the movie and most of this information is derived from Spielberg’s biography and then information gathered from interviews and news articles. This is where again credibility could be drawn into question due to the nature of information gathering and how any holes not mentioned could be doctored in order to make it feel as though it flows. But the presentation of the material and the professional way that it is introduced and talked about, mainly by saying someone who worked on that section of the movie and then quoting them from interviews to connect some of the other facts creates a sense of assurance in the writing. Something else that can be up for debate as many different people can see things differently are the themes and cultural references of the movie. This again is where credibility can be drawn into question however this time largely due to a misrepresentation in someone’s mind as what they thought was a theme, was not included. But this shouldn’t cause too much doubt as this section is based in fact but what is seen by someone else (the writer), is opinion. Lastly the section titled release is straight fact presenting as it is both the amount of money the film made and the reception of the movie. This is largely due to the number reports and reviews that are published for the eyes to see except now it’s just placed online. This section includes many hyperlinks to reviewers, articles, and websites that show all of the data that is it aimed to present. This adds to the credibility of the writer, and overall with only small areas here and there even raising concern for credibility to be called into question it can all be set aside by the lengthy number of references that help drive home the overview of the movie.
For this Rhetorical Analysis the Instagram page of Anthony Adams, a former NFL lineman and current Instagram personality, (@spiceadams) will be used. The author of the page is himself as it is his personal page however, his page is also his public profile where he posts pictures and videos for his fans(he is Instagram verified). Anthony clearly is a very funny individual and he uses his posts to give people videos and pictures that are meant to bring out laughter. His posts have even been reposted by many other pages that may have fans that have never seen him before and now wish to follow him as they also enjoy what he does. Beyond an Instagram entertainer he uses his page to promote the few shows that he stars in as a co-host, a cooking show and a couple sports broadcasting related shows. But there is a very clear difference between his personal posts, advertising posts, and then his comedy posts. But even with these differences it still shows him as an outgoing and overall happy person, he never has any pessimistic things to say. Due to the word limit on posts, paragraphs cannot be posted so the best way to get the idea across is by using 1-2 sentences or even phrases and then hashtags to related ideas on the internet. He uses this as well as capitalization as the main way to relate and reach out to his fans in a way that brings out laughter. Having it be a social media page creates a way for these conventions to be used to further portray the emotions that he is using. Saying something in all caps and/or adding a gratuitous amount of exclamation points allow the reader to really understand that this is something that is funny to him and has the reader read a caption in an entirely different way. Emoji’s have gained so much popularity that they are regularly used after a post or even in one as a substitute for a word this is yet another way to portray his light hearted and outgoing personality and change how the sentence is understood. Something else that he utilizes is his frequency of his posts, it seems that he posts every day and frequently has more than one post per day. This allows his fans to get a steady stream of videos and never feel as though he doesn’t release enough or too much. Instagram recently brought about a story mode and livestreaming feature which he uses when he is out at an event. This provides some more content for those who are genuinely interested in what he does with his free time. All of this boils down to his use of pathos, way above the other two, to gain more fans and keep the fans that he already has. He uses his personality and sense of humor to reach out to people of all ages and they respond back to him in a mostly positive manner. He doesn’t have to make an attempt to present himself as something he is not, since all of the emotion and personality and effort put forth into all of the work that he produces is just the way that he is as a person. Hi effort was there as he grew up and made it to the NFL and now he just has changed his focus onto something else and has attacked it with the same drive.
