About Me
My name is Chad Howser and I am a Pre-Major undergraduate student at Texas Christian University in the Class of 2021. I at the time of the use of this blog I am a second semester freshmen, Spring 2018. And have applied to be a Pre-Business undergraduate student so after Sophomore year, Spring 2019, I can apply to the Business school. This is all to go towards a degree in Finance with Real Estate or Accounting. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri but have lived in Granbury, Texas since I was two years old, Granbury is about 45 mins southwest of Fort Worth. I went to public school up until 6th grade when I switched into a private school in southwest Fort Worth, Trinity Valley School. I attended TVS from sixth grade until I graduated in May of 2017, and then immediately went to attend TCU in the Fall of 2017. My current course, barring any setbacks, is to graduate in the Spring of 2021.
Outside of school I participated in three sports, football, basketball, and baseball, from the age of 6 until my senior year of high school. I enjoy watching all three of these and try to attend all of the TCU home games and try to never miss a Cowboys or a Mavericks game, missing Rangers games isn't a big deal due to the sheer number of games. Other than that I enjoy spending time with the new friends that I have made at TCU and even keeping in touch with my old friends who are scattered all over the United States. Meeting new people here largely has to do with my involvement in the Fraternity Phi Gamma Delta, commonly known as FIJI. However, even with all of these "distractions" my education is put above all else. I never really put my education first as I slacked off in high school because I had the ability to and that didn't really hinder me at all, but you learn quickly how much of a different monster that college is. But at the same time you learn how to approach adversity and come out in a way that makes you feel confident in you ability to excel in college.
After having experienced a full year in the college world, I can now see the challenges that it presents and the these challenges are ultimately there for you to understand how the real world will be and the level of expectations that will be there for you. If you can manage and complete the assignments the are given to you and put forth all the effort needed then you will experience the growth that you expect to see in college. If you sit back and treat it like high school, you will struggle and the growth will not happen. The amount of work in this English class has really helped my time management skills as every class has either a reading or some kind of writing that will need to be done before so that discussion can happen, and this discussion will help the assignment of the Unit as a whole come together. Constant revision and review are necessary for all classes as the material is tight so fast that you need to review shortly after or it will be forgotten. Regardless of all of this college has been the best experience in my life so far and has helped me grow so much both as a student and a person.
